Make your mark on NYC!
3 questions:
- What would you add to your community to make it better by 2020?
- What would you remove from your community to make it better by 2020?
- What is unexpected about your community when seeing it from above?
This workshop, based on the traditional game "pin the tail on the donkey," by utilizing a virtual map of New York projected on to a large corkboard. Students will be able to physically pin elements on to the map, which show the additions in real-time, in addition to removing items that are unnecessary and that they believe will make the community better.
The participants will have the opportunity to explain what they've added or removed and the reasoning behind it to a video camera set up next to the map. Once completed, the videos and voices of the participants will be mashed together with visualization of the changed virtual map, to illustrate what the participants would like to see their community look like in 2020.
NOTE: This system is only available for us by students of the NYC Public School System
